- 2. Understanding This Notice: Some words in " " have special meanings in this notice. When a word has a special meaning, we put the word in " " to tell you the special meaning.
- 3. Who Is a Teacher? A “Teacher” is the adult who assigned you the Boom Cards.
- 4. Who Is a Parent? A “Parent,” is your parent or legal guardian.
- 5. What We Tell Your Teacher: When you play Boom Cards, we tell your Teacher how you did and how long it took.
- 6. What We Know About You: You can see the full list of what we know about you. In addition to knowing how you did on Boom Cards, we also know
- a. your nickname,
- b. your avatar,
- c. when you logged in last, and
- d. your browser and IP address.
- 7. Who We Share With: We share what we know about you with
- a. you,
- b. your teachers and specialists,
- c. your school or support team,
- d. companies we choose to help us do what we do,
- e. and, sometimes, your nickname with your classmates.
- 8. How We Use What We Know
- a. Protect Boom Learning from break-ins.
- b. Protect Boom Learning and its users from mischief.
- c. Make Boom Cards better.
- d. Suggest Boom Cards to your Teacher that you might like.
- 9. Ask Your Teacher for Help
- a. Tell your teacher how you learn best.
- b. Ask your Teacher for help if you have trouble using Boom Cards.
- c. Your Parent should also ask your Teacher for help.
- 10. Ways Your Teacher Can Change What We Know About You: Ask your Teacher for help if you
- a. Don't want us to know about you.
- b. Want to see what we know about you.
- c. Want us to delete what we know about you.
- d. Need to fix information that is wrong.
- 11. Stay Safe
- a. Listen to your Teachers and follow their rules.
- b. Use the sign-in method your Teacher tells you to use and only that one.
- c. Never give your password to anyone who is not your Teacher or your parent.
- d. Never use anyone else's Boom Cards account.
- 12. When We Know What We Know About You
- a. If your Teacher gives you a code to use to play (a FastPlay), we won't know anything about you unless you save information.
- b. All other ways of playing Boom Cards keep a record of how you did.
- 13. Classroom Rosters: Your Teacher's Boom Cards classroom has a list called a roster that shows your nickname to the whole class. You can ask your Teacher to hide the roster to keep your nickname private.
- 14. How Your Parents Can Know How You Did
- a. Parents can look at your dashboard.
- b. Parents can also become a Teacher by opening a Boom Cards account.
- 15. A Word About Advertisements
- a. We don't use what we know about you to show you ads.
- b. We don't sell what we know about you to other people.
- 16. A Word About Videos
- a. Some Boom Cards may contain videos from other companies.
- b. We try to make it so those videos do not show you ads.
- c. Tell your Teacher to tell us if they see an ad so we can fix it.
- d. You can always skip watching a video.
- 17. Where We Keep Your Information
- a. Your information is stored in the United States.
- b. We use secret codes to "encrypt" your information.
- 18. When We Delete Your Information
- a. We delete your information when your Teacher tells us to.
- b. We delete your information when your Teacher stops using Boom Cards.
- 19. What If Someone Takes My Information: If someone takes your information without permission and we learn about it, we will tell your Teacher.
